Electricity tariffs are again under fire as the City of Windhoek seeks a 4% increase for residents, blaming inflation, rising bulk power costs, and maintenance.

But the move has ignited public outcry. Social justice activist Shaun E. Gariseb, representing Windhoek ratepayers, slams the City for what he calls inadequate public notification and selective respect for the Electricity Control Board (ECB).
